The
Spooky Brewing Competition
As
the leaves fall each October, the
Prairie Homebrewing Companions of Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN gather
together the best homebrew from the best homebrewers to determine who is the 'Great Pumpkin'
of brewers.
The
Hoppy Halloween Challenge held each year is known for its Medals hung from unique
hand-crafted Halloween
themed lanyards.
All BJCP categories
including mead and cider can be entered, but
the Hoppy
Halloween Challenge has 2 categories unique to this competition:
Halloween
Theme Beer:
"Any beer with characteristics that would
identify it as being made for, and in the spirit of, Halloween."
Fresh
Killed Hops Beer:
"A wet hop beer made with fresh undried hops that
displays the character of those hops in the flavor and aroma."
How spooky can you brew?
Full rules for the special categories are available HERE.
